Who Needs DSR?
The most common symptom being daytime fatigue is subjective and cumulative and gradually over many years often resulting in unawareness making diagnosis difficult. Unfortunately, in many of these cases, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is not discovered until other ailments manifest prompting investigation. Ailments may include stroke, heart attack, high blood pressure, congestive heart failure, cardiac arrhythmia, diabetes, depression, obesity, and often the misdiagnosis of lung disease.
Fortunately, in most cases, diagnosis and treatment of this common sleep disease can be managed through a take-home overnight study and follow up through the DSR clinic with a registered respiratory therapist.
